MITRE 10 KINCUMBER
Mitre 10 Kincumber now have a first rate warehouse to service their trade business that has growth potential and flexibility utilising the Meca Cantilever Racking System.
Kincumber Mitre 10 based on the NSW Central Coast approached Meca Racking Solutions over three years ago to provide a storage solution for timber at their Kincumber site. Timber was stored at a location down the road from the main retail premises and provided supply for trade customers. The timber was presently block stacked and cost time in handling, particularly when the stock at the bottom of the stack was required, and the more the handling the greater the risk of damage.
Kincumber Mitre 10 had a vision to grow this part of the business and set about securing the entire building that they occupied so that they would increase the quantity of materials that could be stocked and make readily accessible to service customer needs in a timely manner. A Cantilever racking system was designed by Meca offering best use of building elevation and floor area. Narrow aisles were accommodated and complemented with the Combilift side loader on site. In addition, fork guide rails were placed around the racking for smoother travel of the Combilift and protection of the racking system from impact.
The rack comprising both single sided and double sided racks enabled timber to be stored on the base and six other levels and provided adequate storage space for current timber storage needs. Kincumber Mitre 10 now had individual and ready access to each pack of timber when required. Steve McCumstie, Director, was impressed with the finished Cantilever system recognising that it offered him the storage and handling capability that he had envisaged over three years earlier. Kincumber Mitre 10 were also impressed with the ability to quickly adjust arm levels to accommodate changing pack sizes and the access to supplies of additional and replacement arms when needed.
They now have a first rate warehouse for servicing of trade business...one they are looking to grow with assistance provided by Meca Racking Solutions.
